new video: Warpaint - Undertow
Warpaint is an all-female foursome from LA. They make great use of faded, echoed vocals which match the faded viewpoint of this vid. Their debut album, The Fool, is set for release on Rough Trade on Oct. 25th.
I had to watch a Soulja Boy ad before the start of the video. That guy is the absolute worst. Would you sell your soul for his millions?

new video: El Guincho - Bombay (movie trailer) (NSFW)
This is a trailer for the movie, Bombay, directed by Nicolás Mendez, featuring the music of El Guincho. He is Pablo Díaz-Reixa from Barcelona, Spain who makes variations of the pop, club, and space-age dance music that you hear in this song.
‘Bombay’ is the lead track from his newest LP, Pop Negro, out on Young Turks and released earlier this September.
He lists all the album’s influences on his site. Check that out here. I love those steel drums.
Find out more about the movie below.

new video: Times New Viking - Teen Spirit In Hell
I have been posting a lot of hip hop lately. But, anyone that knows me knows I love the lo-fi buzz. Get your fix with the video for Times New Viking’s B-side off ‘Move to California,’ their second 7” via Matador.
Hopefully, I will find the time to post something other than a video in the coming week.
In the meantime, catch me live, 8-10pm this Friday on WMUC, 88.1 FM College Park Radio or at wmucradio.com (WMUC HQ) at that same time, for this week’s best plus other Modern Kicks favorites.

new video: Delorean - Real Love
I know I’ve been lazy lately, giving you guys nothing but videos.
Here’s another. I already blogged about the Tiedye remix of this song, calling it an “electro-dance jam at a early morning beach rave.” Well, I think I got the beach part right.
You tell me if that’s a Delorean early morning or evening.

new video: Freddie Gibbs - Oil Money (feat. Chuck Inglish, Chip Tha Ripper, Bun B & Dan Auerbach)
Who said hip hop was dead? These days, I think Nas would take that back. Especially if you’ve been following these underground dudes like Freddie Gibbs.
There’s a killer line-up in this vid, with Chuck Inglish from the Cool Kids and Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys. Plus, Bun B is always fresh.
Gangsta Gibbs’ new release, Str8 Killa EP, dropped on August 3rd on Decon Records.

live video: Memoryhouse - Sleep Patterns (Fader Open Bar)
You guys will like this. I guarantee it. Memoryhouse is one of my favorite bands to chill out to. This acoustic, live version of Sleep Patterns is courtesy of Fader magazine’s Open Bar series.
Be on the look-out for their debut LP Looms of Youth, out sometime later this year.

new video: Big K.R.I.T. - Somedayz
Big K.R.I.T. has this bare-bones style to him. It’s real fresh. Check’im out in this new video and if you haven’t already, grab this year’s best hip-hop album (yeah, that’s what I’m sayin’) here.
The dude signed with Def Jam in June, pretty much directly after he released K.R.I.T. Wuz Here (above.) Expect big things.

It’s been awhile. Here’s the dopest beat I’ve heard in my time away from y’all. I’ve got big plans for the fall. So expect some cool news, pics and lotsa new material.
Enjoy.
